Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our representative. They will present you with a traditional Nepali garland as a symbol of hospitality and escort you to your hotel. Take the day to rest and recover from your journey, acclimating to the sights and sounds of the bustling city.
Today is a leisure day in Kathmandu, allowing you time to rest and make necessary arrangements for the upcoming adventure. You will meet your trekking guide, who will conduct a briefing session to provide essential information about the trek. Use this day to explore some of the cultural landmarks of Kathmandu, such as Durbar Square or the ancient Swayambhunath Stupa.
After a wholesome breakfast, we head to the domestic airport for a scenic flight to Tumlingtar. The short flight takes around 40 to 50 minutes, offering breathtaking views of the snow-capped mountains. Upon arrival in Tumlingtar, we embark on a picturesque drive to Num, the starting point of our trek. The drive takes approximately 5 to 6 hours, passing through quaint villages and lush landscapes.
Our trek begins today as we make our way towards Sedua. The trail leads us through terraced fields and dense forests filled with rhododendron and oak trees. Along the way, we may encounter friendly locals and witness their unique way of life. After around 5 to 6 hours of trekking, we arrive in the tranquil village of Sedua.
Continuing our journey, we ascend further, gradually leaving the lowland villages behind. The trail offers stunning views of Makalu and other surrounding peaks. Passing through serene landscapes, we reach the charming village of Tashigaon after around 5 hours of trekking.
Today's trek is more challenging as we gain significant altitude. The trail takes us through alpine meadows and dense rhododendron forests. The gradual ascent leads us to Khongma Danda, where we can witness panoramic views of the snow-capped mountains. The trek takes around 7 to 8 hours.
Continuing our trek, we enter the Barun Valley, known for its unique biodiversity. The trail offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks, including Mount Makalu. We cross the Shipton La Pass and descend to Mumbuk, surrounded by awe-inspiring Himalayan beauty. The trek takes approximately 6 to 7 hours.
Leaving Mumbuk, we ascend through rocky terrains with breathtaking vistas of the surrounding mountains. The trail leads us to Nehe Kharka, a picturesque grazing area offering serene mountain views. The trek takes around 6 to 7 hours.
Today, we continue our ascent towards higher altitudes. The trail becomes steeper and more challenging as we approach Shershon. However, the stunning mountain scenery keeps us motivated. After around 7 to 8 hours of trekking, we reach the enchanting village of Shershon.
The most awaited day of our trek arrives as we head towards the majestic Makalu Base Camp. The trail takes us through moraines, glaciers, and icefalls, providing an adventurous experience. Finally, we stand in awe at the awe-inspiring Makalu Base Camp, surrounded by towering peaks. We spend some time exploring the area and soaking in the breathtaking surroundings.
Today is dedicated to exploring the serene and awe-inspiring surroundings of Makalu Base Camp. We can take short hikes to nearby viewpoints or simply relax amidst the pristine Himalayan beauty. This day offers a chance to experience the grandeur of the world's fifth-highest mountain up close.
After a memorable time at the base camp, we begin our descent. The trail takes us back through the picturesque landscapes of the Barun Valley. We trek to Yang La Kharka, a scenic grazing area, taking around 5 to 6 hours.
Continuing our descent, we retrace our steps through lush forests and terraced fields. The trek takes us to Dobato, where we can enjoy the serene natural surroundings. The trek takes approximately 5 to 6 hours.
As we near the end of our trek, we continue descending through picturesque landscapes. Passing through small villages and terraced fields, we finally reach Num, where we started our trek. The trek takes around 5 to 6 hours.
Today, we embark on a scenic drive back to Tumlingtar, where we can reflect on the incredible journey we just completed. The drive takes approximately 6 to 7 hours, offering ample opportunities to admire the beautiful landscapes along the way.
After breakfast in Tumlingtar, we board a domestic flight back to Kathmandu. The short flight provides one last chance to gaze at the Himalayan peaks before returning to the bustling city. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you can spend the rest of the day at your leisure, either relaxing or exploring more of the city's vibrant culture.
Your remarkable Makalu Base Camp trek comes to an end today. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time for last-minute exploration or souvenir shopping. Our representative will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight, bidding you farewell with heartfelt memories of the awe-inspiring journey in the Himalayas.
